There are many things that happen on an organic farm, but yesterday's events may have topped them all in strangeness.
My boss was arrested.
I kid you not, but it is not as dramatic as you think. Margie was arrested and released on the spot for committing the "arrestable misdemeanor" of driving a commercial (-like) vehicle without clear identification. It is ridiculous, since it is a farm vehicle, which may or may not fall under certain exemptions, depending on how satisfied a judge is with breakfast. Margie has written a detailed account of the event on her blog if you would like to check it out:

I think I may have jinxed the day. When we were fueling the truck in the morning I told Margie she needed a truck-painting WWOOFer to come so we could advertise and identify who we were, driving down the Florida turnpike. She told me she was getting ready to apply for a cost share with Fresh from Flordia to finance such an endeavor . . . that she and Marian, an artist/designer type, would be talking it through in the next couple weeks. Within the hour, we were pulled over by the Village of Pinecrest Police, who apparently needed something to do. I think he was hoping to find some shady cargo. Nope, only cold air in a truck that had just delivered organic avocados and was off to rescue, tables, totes, trays, compost, and the tomato starts left over from the weekend sales.
I'm in cahoots with a criminal! I like what Margie said as we were driving home: "Man! Why couldn't I be arrested for something good!"

Hahahha, that is awesome. Somewhere in the back of my mind, I have this odd goal of being arrested - I think a lot of people do. There's this odd sort of respect that goes along with being arrested for something not exactly illegal, or something absurd like driving an unlabeled commercial vehicle. It's a great story, though!
