Dear Kirby Wilcoxson, Greg Dyer, Ceca Cooper, and Nancy Olive
I’m graduating this year and going to Kenya to teach at the Rift Valley Academy. Well, maybe. An art teacher at the RVA recently fell ill and is taking the year off. Acquaintances of mine who teach at the RVA, Alan and Sara, suggested I apply for a short-term position through Africa Inland Mission as soon as possible. I’m applying for an assistant type position. The women I would teach with has been at the RVA for three years and this would be a great opportunity to return to Africa (I studied in Uganda spring 2008) and get some teaching experience. My fiancée, Aberi Museveni, is hoping I get the position so I can be familiarized with his native culture while he finishes his English B.A. from UW. We are contemplating a permanent move to Uganda or Kenya, depending on where jobs or positions in the mission field become available.
Would you write a letter of recommendation for me to AIM and the RVA? You know me quite well from my [almost] five years at USF. You know my strengths and weaknesses probably better than I do. If you are willing to write a letter, I will get an addressed and stamped envelope to you as soon as possible. Let me know. Thank you, thank you!
In joy,
Liberty
